The Cortez Parks and Rec Department have posted new guidelines for 2025.

We are working on being inclusive of all level of players, while encouraging competition. In order to do that, here are the new rules for court play.

Each court has a color coded paddle holder:

  • Green: Players looking for a fun game to include beginners and those wanting to develop their skills
  • Blue: Players looking for a more competitive game and wanting to hone their skills
  • Black: Players looking for an aggressive game and wanting to work on targeting and strategy

COURT ROTATION

  • 1 game to 11: win by 2 with a max of 15 points
  • Win 1 game, and the winning team may stay and challenge 2 new players
  • If a winning team wins again, then they may either split up or offer their spot to a new team.
  • If empty courts are available, then players may play as long as they want.
  • If paddle holders are all full, then courts need to rotate all four players, not just the losing team.
